The Surface and Inorganic Chemistry and Catalysis engineering research group started from the synergic fusion of the historical active Laboratories at the University of Genova of Inorganic Materials (at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry) and Surface Chemistry and Industrial Catalysis (at the Civil, chemical and Environmental Engineering Departments). The group is active in the preparation of nanostructured and engineered materials, their advanced characterization of both the surface and the bulk and their testing with multiscale plants aiming at the development of processes and technology for energy, chemicals production and environmental protection outlining reaction mechanisms.

The faculty and permanent staff are composed of 1 Emeritus professor and 3 associated Professors.
